Biosketch
Dr. Zhongzhe Liu is a research assistant professor in the Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering at Marquette University, where he is currently working on sustainable wastewater sludge (biosolids) thermochemical conversion to biochar and bio-fuel.
His project includes the design and construction of a demonstration scale thermochemical system, the production and characterization of value-added fertilizer (biochar), the in-situ catalysis of pyrolytic vapor, and process simulation and optimization.
Dr. Liu's global research interest is centered on the beneficial reuse of solid wastes for energy and resource recovery, such as synthetic fuel production and valuable product extraction.
